Construction

Conductor : Plain or tinned annealed stranded circular copper, IEC 60228, class 2 or class 5
Insulation : (Letter code B) Mica Glass Tape + Hard grade Ethylene Propylene Rubber (HEPR)
Twisting : Color coded cores twisted together to form a pair/triad
Individual Screen : (I) Each pair/triple are screened by copper backed polyester tape in contact with a stranded tinned copper drain wire and wrapped with polyester tape. Pairs/triples are identified by printed numbers on insulated conductors.
Inner covering : (Letter code F) Flame retardant and halogen-free compound
Armour : (Letter code C) Galvanised steel wire braid
Outer sheath : (Letter code U) Flame retardant, halogen-free thermoset compound, SHF2 (Optional SHF MUD)
Color : Grey (if Intrinsically Safe: Blue)

Application Standards

Fixed installation for control, instrumentation and telecommunication in both explosion and safe areas, emergency and critical systems where requirement for fire resistance exists.
